“You’re not coming in?” she questioned me taking my arm in her small hand to stop me from walking back off.

  “Nah.”

Her usually sparkling eyes were dull.

“Am I still invited to your house? Or should I pack up my things?” she asked. She knew she fucked up royally but I honestly ain’t have it in me to care or feel bad at the moment. She bought this on herself.

“I never said you had to go,” I stated, taking my arm out her hand and walking around to the driver’s side of my car.

I didn’t bother looking her way before I pulled off.

I hated that she had me questioning her position in my life. Here I was changing my ways to make her a permanent part of my life and she was moving funny.

Shit, maybe this was a sign that becoming a different man just wasn’t for me.

My phone rung in my cup holder. I saw it was Chelsea so I answered. She rarely called me which gave me a feeling it was because of the incident in the lot.

“What the hell is going on, Mar? I told you to keep a low profile, but your face is all over the Internet with a man pointing a gun in your direction. And you put your hands on him!”

I bit the side of my jaw to refrain from snapping on Chelsea. I knew she was coming from a good place but she was coming at the wrong person.

“Did you see me with a gun in my hand?”

  “No.”

“Exactly so why you calling me? I pay y’all good money to control what to focus on in the city, so figure it out.”

“Trust me, I am. My husband is on it right now, but what about you? Are you going to retaliate? A dead body showing up after this won’t look good and will be difficult to cover up.”

“Like I said, figure it out.”

I hung up on Chelsea to save her from the backlash of today’s events. I needed a fat blunt and a drink.

Feeling someone struggling to take off my belt jolted me out of the deep slumber I was in. Popping my eyes open, I looked around and realized I was slumped in Natalia’s house.

Instead of going to my crib, I shot Natalia a text asking if she was home and went over there once she responded she was. She had a bottle of Grey Goose and I rolled up some of my exotic and we blew it down while watching TV. I must’ve fell asleep and woke up with her between my legs and on her knees.

By the time I realized what the hell she was doing, my dick was out of my boxers and growing in her tiny hands.

“What are you doing?” I groaned feeling her tongue glide across my head.

  Shit!

“What does it look like? I can tell you’re going through some shit so let me help relieve some of this stress.”

It was erotic as fuck the way Natalia was looking up at me and slowly jacking my growing dick. I was more so fucking pissed and disappointed because I expected more from Corryn.

Here I was about to get some fire head and I was thinking about another woman and battling myself to turn it down.

“I’m good,” I protested trying my best to get her off my manhood.

“You will be when I’m done with you.”

The combination of the liquor, weed and feeling her hand on my length had me weak. When she pushed my dick to the back of her throat I released a throaty grunt curling my toes.

Natalia wasn’t playing fair. She had my dick in a vice grip with her lips as she bobbed her head up and down, twisting her hands giving me that crazy gawk, gawk spit combo.

After sucking my balls into her mouth while jacking me off, she had me shooting my seeds to the back of her throat like an AK 47. She took that shit back and then stood to her feet, pushing the thin ass shorts down her hips.

As tempting as it was, I tucked my semi hard dick back in my pants and adjusted myself.

  “I want some dick.”

“I don’t have none to give.”

Eyeing me weirdly, she pulled her shorts back up and tilted her head.

“Since when did we start that? You don’t ever pass up on pussy. Not with me.”

Taking my hands, I dragged them down my face and leaned my head back onto her couch. I had no business being here.

“I’m chilling,” was all I said.

Natalia smacked her lips and took a seat next to me on her couch sitting Indian style still eyeing me.

“I always told you, you can keep it real with me. You’re here because of that girl. Word on the streets is that you stole her from her boyfriend and y’all had beef in front of her store. The crazy thing is you ain’t fight for our relationship but you’re going hard for a girl you probably ain’t with. You can’t be. Not with your dick down my throat.”

I laughed at how fast shit traveled in the hood. I’m sure it was a bitch that came up with that story because my name was stamped. I was way too thorough to bicker over a woman. Corryn was worth it, but I ain’t even have it in me to do no shit like that. If Pitt was who she wanted they could have each other. Women came a dime a dozen, the ain’t shit ones and the good ones. The fucked-up thing is I thought she was better than that.

“If that’s the story you got and you want to believe it, then that’s on you. I ain’t clearing up shit.”

“That’s the thing, I know you, Amare. We have history. I’m nothing like them other bitches you fucking. I knew you before you had it all and I’m still here fighting to be with you because I deserve you at ya best.”

  Damn sure nothing like Corryn.

“Time don’t mean shit. You can be with someone for years and feel nothing and be with someone for a few weeks, maybe months and feel everything. You don’t deserve shit from me. You forgot how it all played out? Just cause I’m fucking you doesn’t mean I fuck with you.”

Her face balled up from my statement because I easily put her ass back in her place. I don’t know how she forgot she was hopping from one dick to the next. That wasn’t loyalty.

“Had to be feeling something because you still fucking me.”

“Doesn’t mean shit. Any body can get fucked.”

The color drained from her face before she glared at me.

The woman that birthed me turned her back on not only me and her only daughter, my father was buried six feet underground, and this chick who I’ve been kicking it with further proved how bitches wasn’t shit. I ain’t have a fuck to give.

The way I was moving I should’ve had an endorsement with Magnum because I wasn’t trying to get caught up getting a chick like her knocked up. At least I thought I wasn’t but with Corryn was a different story.

I stood to my feet to go. There was no need for me to be around her.

“Why can’t you forgive me, Amare? That was years ago and you’re still fucking me so you probably ain’t that mad anymore.”

She was still screaming that fucking song as if it made a difference

Walking to the door, I shot over my shoulder, “Fucking you and cuffing you are two different things.”

“I bet you’ll forgive Corryn though.”

“Ain’t shit to forgive. Thanks to you, no one can ever get that close to hurt me again.”

  Trevor

I had a front row seat at my door watching the nasty exchange of looks Yvette and the shawty I met a few days ago gave each other. I tried my best to make sure she was gone after receiving a phone call from her, but she was closer than I thought and I couldn’t turn down a quick nut to start off my morning.

Stepping back, I allowed her space to walk inside of the house and closed the door behind me. I followed her to the kitchen watching her ass move in her sundress. Doing ten years in jail didn’t age her at all. She’ll put any woman to shame with the body she had. There was no doubt she was sexy as shit but I wasn’t going to allow that to hinder my train of thought. Yvette was a woman scorned, so I knew I had to tread lightly.

I was shocked she finally came around. She’s been out of jail for almost two months and I only saw her twice. Part of me believed she fell under her husband’s spell.

Once she made it to the kitchen, I watched her look around as if she was searching for another woman hidden and then pivoted on her heels. Yvette faced me, with her arms crossed tightly under her breast and her lips twisted in a sneer.

“Are you kidding me? I’m this close to ending my relationship to be with you and I walk up to find a woman leaving your house?!” She laughed and began to pace the floor in a square as if she was still in a cell rather than the massive kitchen of the mansion I was renting out. “I can’t be going into the same situation twice. I can’t and I won’t.”

Closing in the space between us, I embraced her in my arms and kissed her lips to calm her down. It was amusing to see her sweat because for a second I almost thought I was losing her and had to go to plan B.

Being Pitt’s gun for hire paid off big time. He never got his hands dirty simply because he wasn’t that kind of nigga to bust a gun. I wasn’t putting him down because I got paid well to get rid of his competition. Those that stayed afloat, I robbed them for what they had and did small jobs in different states to keep my income flowing.

The shit was getting boring and I figured if a man like Pitt can run an empire so can I. That’s when the idea of taking over his shit came to mind. I had the option of holding a gun to his head and scaring his bitch ass, but that could lead to a war. He still had people that would move when he said to. I had to find another way in and that way in was his wife, Yvette.

“I’m sorry, but did you really expect me to sit in this big ass house alone while you play wife to a nigga that was in a whole relationship while he was supposed to be holding you down?”

Her arched eyebrows snapped together, but she ain’t say a word. “Don’t kiss me. I don’t know where your lips have been,” she sneered pulling away from me

“We ain’t about to do this, Yvette. I’m a grown ass man. I knew what I wanted and I came after you. I held you down when the weak ass nigga you had couldn’t, but you got out and forgot all about everything we had planned together. It’s cool, though. I’ll take that L.”

I stormed off hoping she played right into my hand, when I heard her voice and felt her hand on me, I smiled before facing her with a scowl on my face.

  “I’m done with Pitt, Trevor.”

  “No, you’re not.”

“I am. I can’t take this shit anymore. He ruined my life and damn near tarnished my family’s business. I’m ready to take back control of everything.”

Biting back the smile that was threatening to form, I went back up to her and held her face pressing a soft kiss on her lips. This was music to my ears.

“I told you I was with you every step of the way.”

“I hope I can believe you. I don’t want you to steer me wrong,” she added.

“The sooner we can get rid of your husband and you can get me to meet your connect we can get on the right track.”

Yvette shook her head. “You would think that it’ll be that easy but we have another problem that’s deeper than Pitt. Pitt isn’t our issue. Well not a big one. There’s this guy named Mar that snatched my father’s connect. We have to get rid of him first fast. I damn near lost all of my clientele because they are going to him. My connect isn’t allowing me to buy anything because Pitt owes him.”

That name sounded familiar as shit. “Mar?”

She moved her head up and down. “Yes, I believe his name is Amare.”

That’s when it hit me that he was with the dude I had a scuffle with in the club. My hand went to the lump on my chin that barely went away. I didn’t get his name but I picked up on the name Mar from the way everyone around showed him so much love. It was a small ass world. I was looking for a come up and the money was always right in front of me.

“Do you hear me?” Yvette asked snatching me out of my thoughts.

  “What happened?”

“If we do this it has to be on my terms. I do love you Trevor, but I can’t set myself up to get played. There’s too much on the line for me to sacrifice everything again.”

“What you suppose we do differently?”

“I’m tired of being in the shadow of a man. I don’t only want to be your woman, but I want to be your partner.”

I laughed because she sounded so passionate when that shit wasn’t going to happen. There was no way I had any plans on sharing a thing with her. I’d keep her around to jump my bone when needed but that was just about it.

Gripping her slim waist, I placed her on the counter and used my body to part her thick thighs. Right now I was sick of hearing her mouth and envisioned my dick in it.

“Your wish is my command,” I said before I sucked her bottom lip into my mouth. “Don’t make me regret this shit.”

Yvette moaned against my lips as she dug her hands into my waist eager to touch the part of me that was so happy to see her.

  “If I wasn’t serious I wouldn’t be here. I’m all yours, Trevor.”

“Show me,” I told her nudging her back and lifting her sundress happy to see she was more ready than I thought.

I couldn’t say I trusted her, but at this point I didn’t have shit to lose. Killing her and Pitt was always an option, but since she was willing to hand everything over to me I can spare her life and work them tight as walls between her legs. What made this shit more sweet was now I had someone else on my radar.

“This better be good,” Officer Cloak said.

“Trust me it is,” I responded grabbing my dick in my hands. She looked at my naked body and grimaced causing me to chuckle.

  “Put some clothes on.”

“My money pay this rent, so I’ll walk around as I please,” I spat shutting the door behind her.

Cloak and I connected after a routine stop. She was the type that portrayed to take her job seriously but in my line of work I knew everyone had a price especially since Mrs. Officer had a coke and gambling habit out of this world. I smelled the greed radiating off her and offered her a stack of cash to let me go after shooting and killing Spiel, Yvette's father years back. The crazy thing is, Pitt hired me to kill him and now I was close to bodying him for the position he murdered his wife's father for.

Now that I had a new target, I needed another body to help me pull off everything I had lined up. I was happy as shit I had her in my back pocket.

“I’m leaving,” she huffed heading towards the door.

Turning up the glass of liquor I had in my hand, I lifted the black duffel bag I packed with cash and tossed it at her feet. Hearing the money spilling out caught her attention like a bloodhound. She stopped moving and looked at the bills scattered on the floor and then at me.

“I thought you were leaving,” I smirked and she rolled her eyes before glancing back down at the cash. It was obvious she was thinking about the mountain of coke she can snort.

  “What is it?”

“I need you to find out who Mar is. Amare. Don’t know his last name, but he has a sister and two dudes I’m assuming he’s cool with.”

  “Amare Davis.”

My eyes lit up. This shit was easier than expected. “I take it that you know him.”

  “And he’s off limits.”

  “To who? You?”

“Everyone. That young boy has the entire city in the palm of his hands. He’s clean as a whistle and practically untouchable.”

“I didn’t ask you that shit!” I yelled.

  “Look-”

“I didn’t ask for a speech about the little nigga. I’m paying you to do a fucking job, so do it. Unless you’re ready to get your badge revoked and standing in the unemployment line after the warden finds out he got a coke head bitch making deals with low level dealers to pay off her never-ending debt.”

Staring me straight in my eyes, Cloak’s lips curled because she knew it would take one random drug test and her entire career will be down the drain.

I watched her as she picked up the bag of cash and squeezed the handles in her hand.

  “Amare has a
sister named Amena. She runs an Accounting Firm in Logan Square. If you want to get to him, she’s your best bet. Any other way, is a lost cause.”

A vivid image of the fine chocolate goddess popped into my head. It wouldn’t hurt to add her to the team after turning her brother and his friends world upside down.

“See that wasn’t so hard.” I nodded towards the bag. “Think of that as an incentive. I want to know everything about everyone he crosses paths with.”

  “What about Pitt?”

“Let me handle that. Stay focused unless you need me to add a bonus to your cash,” I responded stroking my dick as I gazed at her. Cloak wasn’t anything to rave about, but she had a pussy between her legs and that was motivation enough.

Pursing her lips, she turned and rushed out of the door closing it right behind her.

  CoCo

“If you’re not living with Pitt, where have you been living?”

Folding my clothes, I held my phone between my head and my shoulder as I packed my belongings away. “With a friend.”

  “What friend?”

I thought about telling my mom I was with Amare who was more than just a friend, but I wanted to get her up off the phone as soon as possible. She couldn’t grasp the idea of me not wanting to be with Pitt. Probably because I have yet to go into detail about our break up, but it wasn’t necessary.

“Rita.” It was a half lie because I was packing my stuff to take to her place until I found a place to live which shouldn’t take long.

My mother finally shut her mouth giving my eardrum a break.

“I don’t understand why you just don’t come back here.”

HELL NO! I mouthed to myself.

I loved her dearly, but she was too much. I had to deal with her in doses. It could’ve been because she was lonely so she was driving her own self crazy, but I didn’t want any parts.

“Mom, I’m grown. There’s no way I’m moving back with you.”
